Degenerative joint disease, or osteoarthritis, is the most common form of joint disorder. It can occur in any joint, but usually it affects hands, knees, hips or spine.
If cartilage breaks down, or degenerates, the bones lose their cushioning and the exposed bone surfaces can rub together. The joint area can become inflamed and painful, resulting in reduced motion in the joints. In addition, bone spurs, or extra bone, may form around the afflicted joint, and the ligaments, or fibrous connective tissue, and the muscles around the joint may then become both weaker and stiffer.

Born in Mexico to North American Parents, Dr. Greig maintains a close relationship to the Mexican population and to both U.S. and Canadian expatriate communities. The U.S. Consulate General has recognized him on several occasions for his assistance to tourists and expatriates. His staff are experienced bilingual doctors, caring nurses, and receptionists who also speak English.
Dr. Max is the Medical Director to Puerto Vallarta’s first medical school.
Spreading his time out, he also donates surgical services to crippled children at a Puerto Vallarta orphanage.
