Los Arcos Snorkeling, Las Marietas Snorkeling. This is a great way to explore the natural marine life in the area. Great for all ages and can be combined with Whale watching and sight seeing within the Bay of Banderas.
LAS MARIETAS SNORKELING - Located at the northwest end of Banderas Bay, Las Marietas are a group of 3 islands that offer fantastic snorkeling! The Marietas Islands have recently been named a protected Marine Reserve, and as a result, many different species of fish enjoy the safety of the surrounding waters.
The Marietas Islands provide sanctuary to dolphins, sea turtles and friendly giant manta rays, masses of tropical fish and coral reefs. King Angelfish, Panamic Sergeant Majors and Cortez Chubs frequently approach snorkelers at Las Marietas. You'll also see damselfish with their dark purple-blue body and bright neon blue spots, and if your lucky, you might spot a beautiful white and yellow fish with vertical black stripes - the elusive Moorish Idol.
Enjoy the north side of the bay where we explore the Marietas Islands which has over 154 bird species, 112 fish species, and 5 mammal species. Also home to the blue footed boobies, a bird species only found in two places in the world, Puerto Vallarta and the Gallapagus Islands. This boat departs from Puerto Vallarta Marina and includes snorkeling at the Marietas Islands, lunch, open bar and cave exploration .
