Salty Dog will do their best to match dogs with adopters to ensure a happy forever home!
We rescued 201 dogs and adopted out 130 in 2023 and we currently have 90 dogs in our care. We could not have come this far without all the amazing donors that have trusted us to make sure every peso can go as far as possible. We could not have kept the rescue going without your contributions to the dogs.
Check our Facebook and website for more information and for current dogs needing homes and contact us if you would like to help out in any way or contribute donations.

Bucerias Tercera Edad, translated meaning “The Third Stage” is a volunteer non profit association registered in Mexico in the spring of 2014.
Marilyn Moxin (President) and her husband Jim help needy members of Club de Tercera Edad (Bucerias Senior Center) on Canal and Encino.
We became aware of instances of elder abuse and the lack of everyday comforts many of the Mexican seniors are faced with. While we recognize that there is tremendous poverty in Mexico, we also recognize that many children do not care for their aging, ailing parents. It is simply not acceptable that a senior woman should sleep on cardboard placed on a dirt floor. Further it is not acceptable that this woman’s children would sell a bed we could donate for her comfort. In view of our observations of the lack of care and comforts afforded the needy elderly population in and around the Bucerias area we feel these pioneers deserve proper care that can be afforded through an assisted living home.
While our main focus is to raise funds for an assisted living home to provide the local aging population with the comforts they so deserve, we continue to solicit donations of wheelchairs, walkers, prescriptions, eyeglasses, reading glasses, hearing aids, beds, clothing, blankets and other household donations from Canada and from local tourists to provide an interim solution.
