Opal History In Mexico
The name comes from the Sanskrit “Upala” meaning beautiful stone. According with historical data, Opals from Mexico were used by the Aztecs to prepare ornamental and ceremonial items between years 1200 and 1519.
In this area opals have diffraction effect, diving their unique color and brightness, this being fundamental to determine quality.
